if you’re looking for a unique newborn session location in peoria, arizona, don’t rule out your favorite coffee shop!!!
this one is extra special to me because justin and ashley are family, and baby elena is my niece! coffee is part of ashley's daily routine and almost every date, so when it was time to plan her newborn session, there was only one place that felt like them: the brew box coffee company.
most newborn sessions happen at home or outdoors, and i love both. but the best family photos feel authentic to the people in them. a coffee shop session is a great fit if:
-coffee is part of your family’s story and daily rhythm
-you want photos that feel like your life, not stiff and posed
-you’re in the west valley and want something cozy and a little different
nothing about this session felt forced. justin and ashley were just themselves, snuggled up with elena in a place they already love. i got the tiny fingers and toes, elena chilling with mom, and the candid moments of two new parents just staring at their baby. and yes, there are a few coffee cup shots too, because of course there are.
this is why i love documentary-style family photography. one day these photos will tell elena that her parents loved coffee, loved each other, and took her to their favorite spot for her very first family photos. you can’t get that from a studio backdrop.
the brew box coffee company is in peoria, arizona, and it’s a great spot for a lifestyle session if you’re local. i’d check with the shop ahead of time about quiet hours so you can have the space to yourselves. mid afternoon and slower weekday times usually work best.
