this session is extra special because it’s my family. my aunt paige and uncle josh, my cousins heidi and otto, and baby sister on the way, all at jetty park, which is their favorite spot. they’re there every single week, so choosing it for their maternity photos was a no-brainer. (i've also documented every pregnancy for them at this beach. i'm not crying you're crying.)


if you’re looking for a family maternity photographer in the cape canaveral and brevard county area, here’s my honest take on photographing at a place your family already loves: the comfort shows. heidi and otto weren’t nervous or shy. they were at home, which means they were running, laughing, and doing everything except standing still!


it was cold!! the kids had a lot of energy, and not every frame was calm and perfectly posed. but that’s the thing about family sessions with little ones. you can’t force it, and you don’t have to. we leaned into the chaos, kept moving, and let golden hour do its thing.


the photos that came out of it are some of my favorites. the glowing light, paige with her hand on her belly, josh scooping up the kids, heidi and otto squeezed in close knowing a baby sister is coming. none of it looks stressful. this is why i love photographing families in their everyday places.


a few tips if you’re planning a maternity session with kids in tow:


– pick a spot your kids already know and love

– schedule around golden hour for soft, warm light

– bring layers in the cooler months, and bring snacks

– let go of perfect, because the real moments are the best ones
